Élevée Winegrowers was born of a simple idea… to grow terroir-driven wines from diverse micro-sites in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, which capture a sense of place, at a moment in time, and reveal a little about us. Our focus is wines that showcase the range and beauty of Willamette Valley terroir. We believe that a wine is shaped equally by one’s growing and winemaking choices. In fact, we feel they are one and the same. Consequently, at the heart of Élevée is this concept of ‘winegrower’… one part ‘winemaker’, one part ‘grower’. The two are inextricably linked.
After years of growing and crafting wines for others in Burgundy, Napa Valley, New Zealand, and now here in Oregon, we were presented with an opportunity to bring our idea to life when Archery Summit’s Gary Andrus decided to sell a very special, high density micro-site in the Dundee Hills that he had planted in 1998. We scrimped, saved, and sacrificed to purchase it, and named it Élevée Vineyard… our very first micro-site. We farm this site ourselves, craft our wines, and do everything in between. To us, a wine is a wonderful vehicle that can transport one to a ‘place’ and ‘time’, as seen through the eyes of the winegrower.
