About Murto Vineyard

Murto Vineyard is a small, old family-run vineyard, located in the Dundee Hills in Oregon. It was established in 1991 with initial plantings of Pommard Pinot Noir and the purchase of an adjoining 20-acre site that was planted in 1978 with Pommard and Wadensville Pinot Noir. We’ve added more Pommard, some 115 clone Pinot Noir and nearly an acre of Pinot Gris and now have a total of 16 acres in vineyard. The vineyard sits in a sheltered south-facing location, ranging in elevation from 400 to 700 feet. The red jory soil adds its magic to the grapes, producing wines with earthiness, richness and a unique peppery finish.

We sell our fruit to 4 different wineries and most produce single-vineyard designate wines from our vineyard. We are fortunate to work with very talented wine makers who know our vineyard and produce award-winning wines from our grapes.

Our passion is Pinot and we strive for perfection – believing that wine really is made in the vineyard. To that end, we do all the pruning and tractor work ourselves and have the help of a crew for the rest of the work. We are hands-on farmers of our land and our goal is to produce the best fruit possible for our customers. And after 23 years of farming, we think it’s working pretty well!
