Six Dundee Hills members have earned recognition for their exceptional wines, appearing across three notable Top 100 lists. Showcasing varietals from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay to sparkling wines, these accolades highlight the region’s excellence and diversity. Though Pinot Noir initially brought the AVA international acclaim, the consistently high quality of a range of varietals continues to elevate its reputation.

Wine Spectator Top 100:

  • Domaine Drouhin Oregon (Roserock/Eola-Amity Hills) #6: 2022  Pinot Noir
“Supple and elegantly structured, with detailed raspberry and cherry flavors accented by rose petal, brown baking spices and orange peel as this glides toward polished tannins.” —TF
  • Domaine Roy et Fils #74: 2022 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills Incline
“This silky red is gracefully complex, offering detailed flavors of raspberry and cherry laced with rose petal, orange peel and dusky spice notes that build richness and texture toward refined tannins.” —TF

James Suckling Top 100:

  • #3 Arterbury Maresh: Chardonnay Dundee Hills Maresh Vineyard 2022
Rich golden color with beautiful notes of mangoes, candied lemons, oranges, lots of spices, hits of toffee, peach pit, Sichuan pepper and umami, with a white truffle fragrance. Full and broad with so much depth and so many layers. Polished, pristine and super refined, with firm phenolic tension and mineral verve. Lovely texture and outstanding balance.
  • #43 Nicolas-Jay (Momtazi Vineyard): Pinot Noir 2021
An almost pungent, beautiful aroma of crushed berries, earth and wild herbs leads to mouth-filling black cherries, black currants, black pepper and a rather full body for this producer. Fine-grained tannins and a linear feel balance the ample fruit and spice flavors.

Wine Enthusiast Top 100:

  • #1 ROCO Winery: 2013 RMS Brut Delayed Disgorgement 10-Year Sparkling
“This is easily one of the best sparkling wines I had in 2023. After resting for 10 years on its lees before disgorgement, the wine has developed rich aromas of yellow apples, ripe Oregon white truffles and melted Gruyère cheese. This is a full-bodied wine where poached pear and toasted hazelnut flavors rule the rich palate.” — Michael Alberty
  • #40 Domaine Serene: 2015 Vintage Brut Sparkling
“After 80 months of tirage, this traditional method blend of 82% Chardonnay and 18% Pinot Noir is eager to please. The wine’s combination of Golden Delicious apple and browned butter aromas are almost butterscotch-like. Its creamy texture and elegant bubbles accompany flavors of lemon butter on brioche, saline and toasted filberts. Délicieuse!” — Michael Alberty
