Dundee Hills Wineries in the Headlines
Joseph Micallef of Forbes spotlighted three Dundee Hills wineries in his coverage of the recent Method Oregon Grand Tasting, a celebration of Oregon sparkling wine hosted at Domaine Willamette.
Now producing more than 150,000 cases of sparkling wine annually, he notes, “Oregon now ranks third nationally in sparkling wine production—and first in many quality-focused circles: cool-climate viticulture, marine-influenced terroirs, and a commitment to traditional méthode champenoise drive sparkling winemaking.”
Among the featured Dundee Hills wines were:
- Argyle Extended Tirage 2014 Brut
- Domaine Willamette 2021 Brut Rosé
- ROCO Winery RMS 2014 Delayed Disgorgement Brut
- Stoller Family Estate, 2019 LaRue Blanc de Blanc Sparkling Wine, Extra Brut
Micallef concludes the article by predicting, “As consumer interest in premium sparkling wine continues to grow, Oregon is poised not just to participate—but to lead—with authenticity, artistry, and a fierce dedication to place.”

Brooke Jackson-Glidden of Portland Monthly featured multiple Dundee Hills inns and guesthouses in her roundup of Willamette Valley wineries and vineyards with boutique onsite accommodations.
The options are vast across the valley, and she noted, “at the Black Walnut Inn & Vineyard, valley view suites open onto private balconies that show off the Dundee Hills, while The Setting Inn—a relative of a Napa winery and hotel—situates its guest rooms to stare out at the Chehalem Mountains… Stoller [has] multiple spacious rentals well-suited to group trips that just happen to be walking distance from a tasting room.”
Jackso-Glidden offers a reminder that in the Dundee Hills, exceptional wine experiences don’t end at the tasting room. They extend to where guests wake up, unwind, and enjoy the view.
