North Valley Vineyards Joins the Dundee Hills Winegrowers Association
We’re thrilled to welcome North Valley Vineyards to the Dundee Hills Winegrowers Association! Their tasting room, conveniently located on the ground floor of the Dundee Hotel, brings an inviting new energy to downtown Dundee, ideal for locals, visitors, and anyone seeking an upscale yet approachable wine experience.
North Valley Vineyards was originally founded in the early 2000s as a second label to Soter Vineyards. In 2019, they became an independent winery while continuing their strong relationships with regional growers and expanding into estate vineyards. Their wines are crafted at the Carlton Winemakers Studio, and their portfolio reflects the diversity of the Willamette Valley, featuring Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as well as varietals more commonly found beyond the Dundee Hills.
Open seven days a week, they’re friendly to kids, dogs, groups, and even remote workers. Guests are welcome to bring a picnic or take advantage of the neighboring wood-fired pizza spot, Wooden Heart, for seamless ordering and delivery.
One of the tasting highlights is the “All About Terroir” educational experience, where guests explore single-vineyard Pinot Noirs from the same vintage grown in different parts of the valley. It’s a deep dive into how soil, climate, and vineyard practices shape each wine’s character, allowing guests to tour the northern Willamette Valley in one tasting experience.
Sustainability is at the heart of everything North Valley does. Winemaker James Cahill began his career in vineyard management, bringing a farmer-first mindset to every bottle. All vineyard sources are LIVE-certified, with many also utilizing organic and biodynamic practices. They use lightweight glass bottles and skip foil capsules, both thoughtful steps that reduce waste and reflect their commitment to environmental stewardship.
