Tasting Table Includes 3 Dundee Hills Members in “Best Of” List
A recent Tasting Table article features two experts who know the Willamette Valley region well and were eager to share the Oregon bottles they’re most excited about right now. Brian Gelb of Total Wine Global and Ben Denton of HiFi Wine Bar in McMinnville offer their mix of classic and creative picks, including three Dundee Hills member wineries they consider especially standout producers of Pinot Noir.
Domaine Drouhin Oregon Pinot Noir
- “[It’s] a great benchmark for Willamette Valley style,” says Brian Gelb. “If you’re new to the Oregon wine scene, this is an excellent bottle for showcasing the region’s strong potential and ability to produce superb pinot noir. “It’s a classic for a reason.”
- Brian Gelb calls Winderlea Pinot Noir a “great wine from a small producer that is absolutely delicious.” Founded in 2006, Winderlea was purchased by the Ricci family in January, and the new owners hope to continue the family-owned business approach and the land stewardship that Donna Morris and Bill Sweat are known for.
- Brian Gelb notes, “From a renowned Italian winemaking family, this wine is elegant and beautiful.” The winery is now owned by Marchesi Frescobaldi, one of the oldest winemaking families in Italy, which has been producing wine in Tuscany for 700 years.
