Grandma’s Strawberry Soup



A family heirloom recipe from Daisy Vande Brake of La Bastide Bed & Breakfast is made all the better by a wine pairing that compliments the sweetness of Oregon’s famous strawberries. Serve it at brunch, as an appetizer, or for dessert. But beware: You won’t be the first who’s been tempted to lick the bowl clean!

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 pints fresh Oregon strawberries
  • 15 ounces sour cream 
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract 
  • ⅓ cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 Tbsp Grenadine
  • ½ cup half and half

INSTRUCTIONS 

  • Throw all ingredients in a blender.
  • Serve cold.
