Coppola Movie Night: Youth Without Youth

Settle in for an intimate evening of film and wine as Domaine Lumineux transforms into a theater, complete with a big screen, rich sound, freshly popped popcorn, and just 18 seats.

For our October 16 screening, we’re showing Youth Without Youth (2007), written, produced, and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Based on the novella by Romanian author Mircea Eliade, the film stars Tim Roth as Dominic Matei, an aging professor whose life takes an extraordinary turn after he is struck by lightning and mysteriously restored to youth.

Set against the backdrop of Europe beginning on the eve of World War II, the film follows Dominic through a surreal story of love, memory, language, and a second chance at the life and work he thought he had lost. Youth Without Youth also marked Coppola’s return to directing after a ten-year absence following The Rainmaker.

Each $25 ticket includes admission and freshly popped popcorn. Wine is available by the glass and bottle throughout the evening, and cheese and charcuterie boards may be pre-ordered when booking. Academy Wine Club members receive a complimentary glass of wine for up to four guests.
