When vines were first planted in the Dundee Hills in the 1970’s, no one would have guessed this AVA would become home to more than 700 wineries. As this article notes, the wine scene is the powerhouse of the Willamette Valley, but the luxurious accommodations and seasonal, local menus from renowned chefs also draw visitors from around the world.

For the first time, the top two wines on Suckling’s list this year were Chardonnays, one of the varietals the Dundee Hills is most known for.
