Harvest in the Dundee Hills

The Dundee Hills is a must-visit destination year-round, but fall offers something special. It’s harvest season—the busy conclusion of the growing season when a new vintage begins to take shape. Picture ripe grapes hanging on the vines, electric-yellow vineyards, a sweet and musty aroma in the air, and misty views stretching for miles. It’s an experience you won’t forget.

Harvest Answers

We asked our members what excites them about the 2026 harvest, and why people should visit during this time. Here are their answers:

What excites us about the 2026 harvest?

From Erica Miller, Vineyard Manager, “As we approach our 40th anniversary, it is particularly poignant that we are beginning at Knudsen, a vineyard that has been part of Argyle from the beginning and holds our oldest vines. There is always so much potential energy as we begin a harvest, but we feel a special appreciation as we stand on the eve of our 40th year.”

What excites us about the 2026 harvest?
“As wine growers at Cramoisi, harvest is the most exciting time of the year Mother Nature’s gift brought to life by many hands, countless hours of hard work, and a labor of love, a beautiful reminder that every bottle carries the dedication of all who tended the vines along the way.” – Sofia

What excites us about the 2026 harvest?
Every vineyard brings something different to the table, and that’s one of the things we love most about working with sites across Oregon. Now comes the fun part: letting each lot tell us what it wants to become.
What excites you about the 2026 harvest?
We’re excited about the quality and condition of the fruit. The clusters look exceptional this year. The clusters are beautifully balanced, with healthy vine vigor and well-lignified stems.
Why should folks visit during harvest season?
Harvest is one of the most exciting times to visit. The fermentation hall is bustling with activity, and guests can watch the action unfold through the tasting room windows.
Why should folks visit during harvest season? “At the tasting room we tell the story of harvest, this time of year, you get to see it.”

What excites me about the 2026 harvest is the quality of the fruit and the vibrance of the process – the grapes are ready to be handpicked or machine harvested, workers are energized to bring in the fruit, the wineries are eager to prepare the fruit for pressing and the juice to ferment into wine.
Folks should visit during harvest to experience the vibe throughout the Valley and to better appreciate the process of growing grapes and making wine.

Why should you visit during harvest season?

“Harvest is such an amazing time to visit, there is so much activity and things are really happening! As fall comes around, the leaves are starting to change and the weather is absolutely perfect, a dream combination for sharing wine with friends at Winderlea and beyond” – Anna Ricci, Winderlea

Q. Why should you visit during harvest season?
A. As a working winery, Tasting room and production often blend together utilizing the same spaces. Russell and Emily are always around to answer questions and tell the story, so harvest is a perfect time to step into the action and see the process first-hand. David Luneski, Tasting Room Lead

What excites us about this harvest? The first thing is we are celebrating our 25th Anniversary which is a great honor and accomplishment. The other item is we have expanded our footprint in the Dundee Hills and are now farming an additional 3 acres of Pinot Noir which is adjacent to our main estate, White Rose Vineyard.

Why should people visit during harvest? There is always a certain level of energy that is like nothing else throughout the year. The smell of the fermenters and sound of the tractors is very special. We also take as many guests down in the cellar to give them a visual of what goes into the making of our wines.
